Life is constant revision.
So what was the reason for the MIT visit? Interesting architecture there in the fourth shot.
Hi Audrey - the reason for the visit was that Mick took part in a dog/cat genetics conference at the Broad Institute. We stayed in the Marriott that is right on the MIT campus. I don't often tag along for Mick's conference stuff, but couldn't resist being in the Boston area.
Love the first and fourth :)
That first one is a sculpture called The Alchemist. I knew you'd like it. :-)
More info: "Alchemist", 2010, by Jaume Plensa.
The space in some of these shots is strongly reminiscent of the hollow inside my head at the moment. Loved the art in the final picture - it makes me think of the wonders in the ocean...or cell division... or both.
That art is from the Koch Institute Public Galleries in the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. They are images from research in progress.
So cell division was on the money. Here's hoping they find a way to stop it.
The first image is cool, and I wish I was in front of it to see the dimensions. I like the bench. Tells a story with the paper bags and water bottle. Not sure I like the colors in the paintings. Something about them doesn't please my eye...
"Alchemist" is quite large. I could have stood inside of it (I'm 5'6"). You can get an idea from the bench to the right of it in the photo.
